RETIREMENT ROAD TRIP ~ Days 5-7

December 31st ~ The eyes of the Lord your God are always on the land, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. (Deuteronomy 11:12)
The “what” of our future is determined by the “Who” of eternity.

God holds the future in His hands with grace sufficient day by day, through good or ill He gently leads if we but let Him have His way.

We brought the New Year in praying for each individual…God moved in such an amazing way!! Lynnette and her kids went home after being prayed for because she had to work at 4:am. We toasted in the New Year with sparkling cider. After toasting, Larry played the guitar and we worshipped the Lord in song until about 2:30 am, then we cleaned up, and went to bed.

January 1, 2010 ~ Happy New Year!!! Becky and I went to church…Great service.

HOPE is what I am claiming.

Holy Spirit, teach my soul to soar! There is nothing like Your love, I will love you forever Lord, for all You are to me! Your love is so wide, so deep, so high!

Waves of mercy, waves of grace, everywhere I look, I see Your face. Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty!!

I surrender all to You my God, all I have. Nothing compares to You!! Let heaven shout, for I have been redeemed!!

Luke 9:1 ~ Jesus gave them power and authority over ALL devils and to cure disease!
Luke 10:19-20 ~ Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over ALL the power of the enemy and NOTHING shall by any means harm you.

Jan. 2nd ~ Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go. (Genesis 28:15)
As I travel down life’s pathway, Jesus keeps me day by day, and although the road is winding, yet with Him I need not stray. God’s presence brings great comfort.

Jan. 3rd ~ Sunday, went to church. Heidi Baker spoke a powerful message!! Went to the Shasta Dam Park and took family pictures. Nathan cooked another fabulous dinner, roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, corn on the cob. YUM! Played more cards. The men watched more football.

Lord Jesus, widen my world. I want to be a part of the work You are doing. Give me eyes to see as You see, hands to serve others, and a heart to share Your Gospel.

Jan. 4, 2010 ~ Packed things up, ate breakfast. We left at 10:am headed for the Redwoods. Saw five Bald Eagles. It is fun to be able to stop and enjoy the scenery. Stayed overnight at Chinook RV in Klamath, CA. sat by the fire on the river.

Jan. 5th ~ Got up at 8:am, Larry played his guitar a bit, we had devotions, the men ate peaches for breakfast, packed things up and headed for the Trees of Mystery. Spent all day enjoying the Redwoods. Had seafood lunch in Cresent City on our way home.

It had been a very delightful, blessed and luxurious trip!! Looking forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight though.

Thank You Lord God for the opportunity we have had to do this trip!! Thank You for getting us to and from safely.

RETIREMENT ROAD TRIP ~ Day 4

December 30th

Had a wonderful healthy breakfast…just kicking back this morning. I think we are going to go bowling this evening? Nephew went and worked out at the YMCA, his wife went shopping.

This afternoon we went to Shasta Dam and walked around. Seen a Paragrin Falcon nest and a Eagle in a tree…that was really neat.

Had dinner and went bowling tonight. Another day and night full of luxurious family fun! .

RETIREMENT ROAD TRIP ~ Day 3

December 29th ~

Went to see the Sun Dial Bridge at Turtle Bay in the afternoon. We went to lunch at HomeTown Buffet, had the all you can eat salad bar. Very good place to eat! It's cold out, started raining, so we went back to the house, played cards, baked homemade cinnamon rolls, lasagna and ate dinner later. Alex, my nephew, is helping us all upgrade our computers. We will have Windows 7 put on our computer before we leave. It is amazing how knowledgeable he is with computers! A big blessing to me to learn a bit more.

The kids made play dough birthday cakes. The men/boys watched football game. We learned a new fun card game called Snitched. Laughed a lot again.

Nothing more luxury then spending time with family!!

RETIREMENT ROAD TRIP ~ Day 2

December 28th ~

Shantelle, Dennen and I went to Wal-Mart and made copies of Deric’s graduation pictures, come home ate breakfast and now, 12:30 pm we are off to Redding, CA. to see Rick and his family…

Stopped and had lunch at a rest area and let the dogs walk around a bit. Arrived in Redding at 5:pm ~ What a wonderful blessing to see my brother, his wife, all the nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Played Skip-Bo, laughed and had a great time catching up.
Another fun and luxury day.

FIRST RETIREMENT ROAD TRIP ~ Day 1

December 27, 2009 ~

Thank You Lord Jesus for this opportunity to just take a luxury vacation!! Luxury because we are with each other, going and doing whatever we desire.

Today, Sunday, we went to church. Finished packing the last minute things. It started raining out just as we were heading out, but we have sunshine in our hearts!

1:30 pm ~ We are headed to Cindy’s to pick up Lucas, then to Roseburg to have our CHRISTmas with Clint, Bobbi, Deric, Trenton, and Riane.

5:30 Had a nice visit with Clint and his family, exchanged gifts. Deric followed us to Eagle Point. Lucas and him rode together.

Got to Shantelle and Dennis’. Visited, exchanged gifts, ate.

CHRISTmas Day Celebration

WOW, what a blessed CHRISTmas we had celebrating with about 30 family members. Some come from Texas, some from Washington State, who arrived on Monday. Many from different surrounding areas in Oregon arrived early Christmas morning.

The turkey went in the oven at 8:am, pork tender loin went in the smoker at 8:30. About 1:00 potatoes were cooked and mashed, gravy made, veggie warmed up and the table was set, ready to eat at 2:00.

We all gathered in a circle, joining hands for a prayer of thankfulness and blessing on our bountiful meal. We enjoyed our Christmas feast together, cleaned up and laughed, played cards, Scrabble, laughing, visiting and reminising about the good ol' days.

Many of the guest left around 6:pm...hubby and brother watched the Portland Blazer/Denver Nuggets Game...Blazer's won.

Torch Light Parade (Dec 30)
